Delivery Helper
ConfidentialPosition Purpose The primary functions of the Delivery Helper are to load materials, locate jobsites, assist with backing procedures, prepare and restore jobsites, and prepare the truck for the following day while maintaining the truck and equipment. Key Responsibilities Comply with company, state, and federal guidelines, particularly as they relate to OSHA and DOT requirements for the safety of all personnel. Perform pre-trip inspections of equipment, paperwork, and loaded product to ensure order accuracy. Safely unload product and deliver materials to the assigned area as directed by the customer. Secure mud, equipment, metal, pallets, and other materials on the truck. Navigate routes to jobsites. Assist with maintaining trucks and equipment in a safe and clean condition. Help prepare trucks and materials for the following day's deliveries. Perform additional duties as assigned. Direct Manager/Direct Reports Reports to the department manager. No direct reports. Travel Requirements Frequent local travel to customer jobsites as part of daily delivery operations. Physical Requirements Must be able to remain standing 90% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. Constantly move while unloading materials from commercial motor vehicles onto jobsites, with or without reasonable accommodation. Constantly position oneself to load and unload materials from flatbed or boom trucks, with or without reasonable accommodation. Frequently move materials weighing up to 100 lbs. while unloading and loading flatbed trucks, with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be able to communicate with management and coworkers and exchange accurate information, with or without reasonable accommodation. Constantly work in an outdoor environment while making deliveries, with or without reasonable accommodation. Working Conditions Works primarily in outdoor jobsites and customer locations. Regular exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, noise, moving equipment, and other conditions common to construction supply and building materials operations. Minimum Qualifications Ability to read, write, and communicate information accurately. Ability to safely load, unload, and handle building materials. Ability to follow safety procedures and work instructions. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience in construction, building materials, delivery, warehouse, or a related industry. Familiarity with material handling and jobsite safety practices. Minimum Education High school diploma or GED preferred. Preferred Education None. Minimum Years of Work Experience 0-1 years of experience in delivery, warehouse, construction, or a related field. Work Location On-site The base salary for this position typically falls within the range of $0.00 to $25.00 per hour. Starting wage may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
