Delivery Driver/Lumber Yard

Responsibilities Safely operate various delivery trucks and forklifts and adhering strictly to traffic laws and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Load, unload, and secure materials using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and carts. Drive route schedules efficiently to ensure timely delivery to customers’ locations while maintaining accurate delivery documentation. Assist in yard operations by organizing inventory, moving lumber and materials within the yard using manual handling practices and equipment. Provide exceptional customer service by engaging professionally with clients during deliveries, answering questions, and ensuring satisfaction. Follow safe lifting practices when handling heavy or bulky items to prevent injury and ensure workplace safety standards are met. Qualifications Previous retail experience or familiarity with delivery operations is preferred. Proven experience in commercial driving, including van or box truck operation, with a valid driver’s license. Experience driving manual transmission vehicles is advantageous. Strong knowledge of route driving, load & unload procedures, and adhering to traffic regulations. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks such as moving lumber or materials with proper technique. Familiarity with material handling equipment operation like pallet jacks or carts is a plus. Excellent customer service skills combined with clear communication abilities. Knowledge of DOT regulations related to commercial vehicle operation and weight handling in the workplace.
