Solara Garden Center is seeking a dependable Delivery Driver to deliver plants and garden materials to our retail and wholesale customers. This is an active role that includes driving, towing a trailer, operating a loader at delivery sites, and helping with nursery work between deliveries. You’ll represent Solara at customers’ homes and job sites, so safe equipment handling, careful product placement, and professional customer service are essential. No CDL is required. Trailer towing and loader operating experience are required. What you’ll do Drive a company truck and tow a trailer safely, including backing and maneuvering at customer sites. Operate a loader to unload and place plants and materials at the agreed delivery location. Check orders before departure for correct items, sizes, quantities, and condition. Help load and secure plants, materials, and equipment for transport. Review delivery addresses, routes, access instructions, and scheduled delivery windows. Assess unloading areas and protect customer property, plants, and equipment. Communicate professionally with customers and promptly report delays or delivery problems. Complete delivery records, including photos, customer acknowledgments, and any shortages, damage, or returns. Inspect the truck, trailer, and loader before use; keep equipment clean and report maintenance needs. Complete assigned grower or vendor pickups. Assist with order pulling, staging, customer loading, and yard tasks between deliveries. Required qualifications Valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to our insurer. Experience towing, backing, and maneuvering a loaded trailer. Experience safely operating a loader to move and unload heavy materials. Delivery or comparable driving experience. Ability to follow instructions, check orders accurately, and complete delivery records. Dependability, sound judgment, and respectful communication with customers and coworkers. Bilingual communication skills preferred. Candidates must demonstrate safe operation of the assigned truck, trailer, and loader before independent use. Work environment Work includes driving and outdoor loading and unloading, standing, walking, bending, and moving plants and materials using appropriate equipment or team assistance.
