Taida Orchids Inc.Delivery Driver (Cargo Van) Job Responsibilities & Requirements Main delivery areas are New York City and Long Island. Local deliveries to New Jersey, New York State, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. may also be required as needed. At least 1 year of delivery driver experience is required. Delivery experience in New York City is preferred. Must be comfortable with long-distance driving and driving in NYC. Chinese language proficiency is preferred. · When no delivery is scheduled, greenhouse/warehouse work may be assigned, such as watering, moving plants, loading and unloading, installing plant support stakes, and basic repairs. If the driver does not wish to perform greenhouse/warehouse work, they may leave early; however, they will not be paid for hours not worked. Must be able to lift and carry 20–30 lbs. No Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is required. Deliveries are made using a cargo van. Company provides the delivery vehicle, fuel, and auto insurance. Basic knowledge and skills in vehicle maintenance and minor repairs are required. Must have a good driving record for the past 5 years. A DMV driving record/abstract will be required during the interview process. Good communication skills. Must be careful, gentle, and patient when handling plants and products.
