JOB SUMMARY This role will ensure the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of organizational data. The incumbent will assist in the development, implementation, and support of a comprehensive data governance framework and related processes at UT Southwestern. This includes collaboration with data stewards, and stakeholders, management of data assets, monitoring compliance and performance, and enabling data-driven decision-making through proper governance practices. The responsibilities are dynamic and extend beyond routine tasks, including representing UTSW at UT System governance committees, coordinating efforts across the UT System, and managing complex administrative components such as procurement processes, master data management (MDM) solution oversight, and regulatory compliance activities. This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Our ideal candidate has one to three years of paid full-time professional experience. Preferred Experience – one to three years of paid full time professional experience. Licenses and Certifications Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) JOB DUTIES Works with leadership to assist in designing and implementing a comprehensive data governance framework to ensure data accuracy, accessibility, consistency, and security. Collaborate with data stewards and stakeholders to establish and maintain governance policies, standards, and procedures. Collects and analyzes data, identifies trends and patterns, and generates reports and recommends to stakeholders, data modeling and designing data architectures to ensure efficient storage and retrieval of information, developing and enhancing data warehouses, managing back-end transaction and data processing. Monitor data quality and integrity, identifying and resolving issues in collaboration with relevant teams. Conduct risk assessments related to data handling and management, recommending mitigation strategies to ensure compliance with data protection and privacy laws. Develop and tracks metrics related to data quality, governance activities, and compliance to assess progress and effectiveness. Maintain an inventory of data assets, including classification by sensitivity and criticality, to support effective governance.
