Data Center Asset Management Technician
Tellusicom INCJob Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Center Asset Management Technician to support the tracking, inventory, and lifecycle management of IT equipment and infrastructure assets. This role involves maintaining accurate asset records, coordinating equipment movements, performing inventory checks, and supporting daily data center operations. The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working with hardware inventory and documentation, and able to coordinate effectively with IT, operations, logistics, and vendor teams. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate records of data center assets, including servers, networking equipment, racks, and related hardware. Perform regular physical inventory checks and reconcile inventory records with actual equipment on-site. Track asset receiving, labeling, storage, deployment, relocation, return, and disposal activities. Update asset management systems, spreadsheets, and equipment tracking records to ensure data accuracy. Coordinate with IT operations, warehouse, logistics, and vendor teams to support equipment delivery and movement. Verify equipment serial numbers, asset tags, quantities, and associated documentation. Investigate inventory discrepancies, missing assets, and record mismatches, and follow up with relevant teams to resolve issues. Assist with asset audits, reporting, documentation, and lifecycle tracking. Follow data center security policies and procedures when handling equipment and accessing controlled areas. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or technical education in IT, logistics, supply chain, or a related field is preferred. Experience in asset management, inventory control, warehouse operations, IT support, or data center operations is preferred. Basic understanding of IT hardware, such as servers, switches, routers, and other data center equipment, is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet tools for inventory tracking and reporting. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records. Good organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to coordinate with multiple teams and follow established procedures. Ability to work on-site in Santa Clara, CA. Preferred Qualifications Experience with data center asset management or IT equipment inventory. Familiarity with asset management systems, inventory databases, or IT asset management (ITAM) processes. Experience with equipment receiving, stock control, hardware deployment, or asset lifecycle management. Ability to communicate effectively in English in a professional working environment. Work Environment On-site position in Santa Clara, CA. Requires handling and tracking IT equipment and conducting physical inventory checks in a data center or warehouse environment.
