Transbest Global LogisticJob Summary B&J Global Inc. is seeking an experienced and hands-on Customs Clearance & Logistics Operations Manager to oversee customs clearance activities and lead our logistics coordination team. This position combines two key responsibilities: managing Canadian import/export customs clearance operations as the primary focus, while supervising and coordinating the daily work of our logistics operations team. The successful candidate must have practical experience handling customs clearance processes for commercial shipments entering and leaving Canada, including Canada–U.S. cross-border shipments and international freight movements. In addition to managing customs clearance matters, the successful candidate will be responsible for guiding logistics coordinators, assigning daily tasks, monitoring shipment progress, resolving operational issues, and ensuring efficient communication between customers, customs brokers, carriers, warehouses, and internal departments. This is a hands-on operational management position. We are looking for someone who can independently handle customs-related issues while providing effective leadership and guidance to the logistics team. Professional customs certification is an asset but is not mandatory. Practical customs clearance experience and team leadership capabilities are essential. Key Responsibilities 1. Customs Clearance & Import/Export Operations (Primary Responsibility) Take primary responsibility for coordinating and overseeing customs clearance processes for shipments imported into and exported from Canada. Independently manage day-to-day customs clearance coordination and handle complex clearance-related issues. Review, prepare, and verify customs-related documentation, including Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Bills of Lading, Air Waybills, and Certificates of Origin. Work closely with licensed customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, and customers to ensure timely and accurate customs clearance. Coordinate customs release requirements, documentation submissions through authorized parties, and shipment release confirmations. Monitor customs clearance status and proactively follow up on pending releases, missing documents, customs examinations, and shipment holds. Identify and resolve customs documentation discrepancies, clearance delays, and import/export operational issues. Maintain working knowledge of CBSA regulations, Canadian customs procedures, and applicable import/export compliance requirements. Coordinate CARM-related operational matters and customs accounting documentation as required. Assist with reviewing HS tariff classifications, customs valuation, duties, taxes, and country-of-origin documentation in collaboration with customs brokers and other qualified parties. Support customs documentation requirements relating to CUSMA/USMCA and international trade. Coordinate Canada–U.S. cross-border customs procedures, including PARS/PAPS-related processes where applicable. Maintain accurate customs records and ensure documentation is properly organized and retained. Identify potential compliance risks and escalate specialized regulatory matters to qualified customs professionals or management. Develop and improve internal customs documentation procedures to reduce errors and avoid unnecessary clearance delays. 2. Logistics Team Supervision & Management Lead, supervise, and coordinate the daily activities of the logistics coordination team. Assign responsibilities and distribute daily workloads among Logistics Coordinators. Monitor team performance, shipment progress, task completion, and operational priorities. Provide day-to-day guidance, training, and support to logistics employees. Ensure the team follows established operational procedures and maintains accurate shipment records.
