This position is responsible for coordinating the daily pickup and transportation of crude oil from producers throughout Kern County and surrounding areas. The dispatcher will manage load requests, schedule pickups, assign loads to drivers, track loads throughout the day, and adjust schedules as production and operating conditions change. Oilfield or petroleum transportation experience is strongly preferred. Experience dispatching fuel or other petroleum products is also relevant, even though our operation is focused on crude oil transportation. Responsibilities Receive load requests and pickup requirements from oil producers and customers Schedule crude oil pickups based on available volumes and producer requirements Assign loads to drivers and trucks Coordinate with producers, lease operators, drivers, field personnel, and receiving facilities Track assigned, picked up, delivered, delayed, and outstanding loads Adjust schedules throughout the day as production volumes and priorities change Manage driver and equipment availability Monitor Hours of Service and available driver hours Minimize wait time, deadhead miles, and unnecessary truck movement Maintain accurate dispatch and load records Communicate schedule changes, delays, and operating issues Handle multiple loads, drivers, and priorities at the same time Resolve day-to-day transportation and field issues as they occur Preferred Experience Experience with any of the following is preferred: Crude oil dispatch Petroleum or fuel dispatch Crude oil hauling Oilfield trucking Oil production or lease operations Tank batteries and production facilities LACT units and tank gauging API gravity and BS&W Crude oil measurement and ticketing Petroleum transportation DOT and Hours of Service requirements Trucking or transportation logistics Previous crude oil dispatch experience is preferred, but we will consider candidates with strong experience in fuel dispatch, petroleum transportation, crude oil hauling, oil production, lease operations, or other oilfield operations. Qualifications Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to manage multiple drivers and loads simultaneously Ability to make decisions and adjust schedules quickly Comfortable working in a fast-paced transportation environment Good computer skills Experience with dispatch software, GPS/tracking systems, spreadsheets, or electronic load records is helpful Familiarity with Bakersfield, Kern County, and local oilfield areas is preferred Dependable and able to communicate professionally with drivers, producers, customers, and field personnel Compensation Pay is DOE (Depending on Experience). Compensation will be based on relevant crude oil, petroleum, oilfield, transportation, and dispatch experience.
