GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY | The Cross-Dock Logistics Coordinator manages the daily coordination and execution of Sunshine Bouquet Company’s Trader Joe’s Cross-Dock Program. This role coordinates vendors, carriers, Sunshine facilities, Trader Joe’s Distribution Centers, and internal departments to ensure timely inbound deliveries, inventory, outbound shipments, and carrier pickups. The position requires strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills to quickly address operational issues in a fast-paced environment. JOB DESCRIPTION | Duties include: Cross-Dock & Inbound Coordination Coordinate daily logistics for Trader Joe’s Cross-Dock vendors, including delivery appointments, pallet quantities, arrival times, and receipts. Monitor vendor, facility, SKU, inventory, and shipment activity and communicate delays or changes that may impact outbound execution. Coordinate program launches, transitions, and operational requirements with vendors and internal teams. Outbound & Carrier Coordination Coordinate with Trader Joe’s backhaul carriers regarding pickup schedules, pallet/case quantities, PO requirements, and refrigerated trailer needs. Monitor carrier arrivals, pickups, and departures and confirm shipment readiness with Shipping and facility teams. Identify and address risks related to product availability, trailer capacity, carrier timing, or delayed POs, including arranging additional or alternate transportation when needed. Exception Management & Problem Solving Serve as the central point of contact for carrier delays, missed pickups, vendor delays, product shortages, equipment issues, facility constraints, weather disruptions, and shipment discrepancies. Communicate issues promptly with internal departments and external partners, identify solutions, and escalate matters requiring management or Trader Joe’s direction. Proactively identify execution risks and support high-volume and holiday planning. Inventory, Documentation & Reporting Monitor inbound inventory, available product, PO requirements, and outbound shipments across multiple vendors and facilities to ensure proper allocation and execution. Review the Gold Support Report daily to verify quantities received by each Trader Joe’s Distribution Center. Track outstanding Proofs of Delivery (PODs) and assist with shipment discrepancy investigations using BOLs, shipment records, loading information, carrier communications, and facility records. Maintain accurate records and prepare daily cross-dock status reports covering shipment volume, trailer requirements, carrier status, inventory exceptions, operational issues, and escalations. Provide timely information to CSR/Sales and management to support shipment reconciliation and issue resolution. PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS | 2–4 years of experience in logistics, transportation, distribution, cross-docking, warehouse coordination, or supply chain operations. Strong organizational, communication, follow-up, problem-solving skills and collaboration skills. Ability to manage multiple vendors, facilities, shipments, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
