Crew leader pick up truck driver

Job Summary As a Crew Leader Pick Up Truck Driver, you’ll guide a field crew and operate vehicles and equipment to collect and transport waste safely and efficiently. You’ll plan and follow assigned routes, coordinate loading and unloading, and communicate professionally with customers and the public. This role involves outdoor work, physical tasks, and careful attention to traffic and safety requirements. Responsibilities Lead daily crew activities, assign tasks, and reinforce safety protocol adherence. Drive pickup and commercial trucks, including front loader, rear loader, garbage, and roll-off trucks, as assigned. Follow route plans and applicable traffic laws, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, state transportation regulations, and hazardous materials regulations. Coordinate load and unload work, including heavy lifting, and operate front-end loaders when needed. Inspect vehicles and equipment, report maintenance concerns, and support solid waste and municipal waste management operations. Your impact: Safe, dependable collection helps customers and communities maintain cleaner, more orderly spaces. Skills Required: Valid qualifications for assigned commercial truck driving duties, defensive driving practices, and safe operation of vehicles with air brakes and manual transmissions. Required: Ability to follow safety procedures, applicable regulations, and route instructions; perform physical work and lift loads as needed. Preferred: Experience with garbage collection, roll-off trucks, front or rear loader trucks, front-end loaders, delivery driving, and route driving. Preferred: Mechanical knowledge, customer service experience, and outdoor work experience. Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour Work Location: In person
