Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Courier Driver and become the vital link in delivering goods efficiently and safely across diverse routes. In this energetic role, you will operate various types of vehicles, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tanker trucks, to ensure timely delivery of freight and hazardous materials. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, route navigation, and cargo handling will drive our success while providing exceptional service to our customers. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be on the move, embracing over-the-road (OTR) driving routes and mastering logistics cargo handling with professionalism and precision. Duties Safely operate a variety of commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, adhering strictly to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Plan and execute efficient delivery routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize time and fuel consumption across over-the-road (OTR) routes. Load and unload freight with proper manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo safety and compliance with hazardous materials regulations for dangerous goods. Transport freight securely while complying with hazardous materials regulations (Hazmat), including the transportation of dangerous goods and hazardous substances. Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure truck safety, including checking for mechanical issues related to manual transmission, refrigeration units, or other specialized equipment. Load and unload cargo accurately, managing logistics cargo handling procedures for various types of freight such as freight shipments, hazardous materials, or specialty loads like tanker or flatbed freight. Maintain detailed logs of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and compliance documentation in accordance with FMCSA and DOT regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to confirm delivery times, resolve issues promptly, and provide excellent customer service. Skills Proven experience in delivery driving with a strong understanding of route driving strategies. Skilled in truck loading and unloading techniques for freight handling across different vehicle types including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or refrigerated trailers. Knowledge of commercial truck driving regulations including FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), hazardous materials regulations (Hazmat), and safety standards. Proficiency in GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time traffic updates. Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles confidently while maintaining safety standards. Experience with automobile transportation logistics for over-the-road (OTR) driving routes involving long-distance travel. Strong manual handling skills for cargo loading/unloading while ensuring safety protocols are followed. Familiarity with trucking equipment such as refrigerated units or tanker attachments is a plus.
