Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Courier Driver and become a vital link in delivering goods efficiently and safely across diverse routes. In this energetic role, you will operate various types of vehicles, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, and refrigerated trailers, to ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and transportation regulations. Your expertise in commercial driving, route planning, and cargo handling will help us maintain exceptional service standards. Duties Safely operate a variety of commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers on over-the-road (OTR) routes. Plan and follow efficient delivery routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize travel time and fuel consumption. Load and unload freight, ensuring proper handling of hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and hazardous materials regulations. Transport freight securely while adhering to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safety standards for truck driving. Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to verify mechanical condition, safety features, and cargo securement before departure. Load & unload cargo with manual handling techniques, ensuring proper weight distribution and cargo integrity during transit. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and records in line with logistics cargo handling procedures and regulatory requirements. Requirements Proven experience in delivery driving or freight transportation with knowledge of route driving and logistics cargo handling. Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements for hazardous materials (Hazmat), tanker, or flatbed preferred. Experience operating manual transmission trucks and tractor-trailers in compliance with FMCSA regulations. Strong understanding of DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, including hours-of-service rules and safety compliance standards. Ability to handle manual handling tasks safely during load & unload operations involving freight or hazardous goods. Proficiency with GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time navigation adjustments. Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tanker trucks, and automobile transportation is advantageous. Knowledge of dangerous goods transportation regulations for the safe handling of hazardous materials during transit.
