Construction Operations Manager Ynot Build | Virginia Beach, VA Full-Time | $80,000–$100,000 Based on Experience The Opportunity Ynot Build is a growing Class A construction company specializing in high-end residential construction, major renovations, custom homes, and commercial projects. We are looking for a highly organized, experienced Construction Operations Manager who can see the entire construction operation—not just one project. This person will serve as the central point of accountability across all active projects. You will work directly with ownership and our Project Managers to ensure every project is properly permitted, scheduled, documented, on budget, and moving forward. If a project is falling behind, going over budget, waiting on a permit, missing a selection, or not being properly managed—you should know about it before ownership does. What You Will Own ● Maintain a working knowledge of every active construction project ● Hold Project Managers accountable for schedules, budgets, documentation and execution ● Coordinate and track permits, plan reviews, inspections and Certificates of Occupancy ● Monitor every project’s Gantt chart and identify schedule delays before they become major problems ● Review project budgets, committed costs, actual costs and projected profitability ● Identify potential budget overruns and bring corrective actions to management ● Ensure Project Managers are consistently and accurately using Handoff and our project-management systems ● Track change orders, allowances, selections and scope changes ● Monitor procurement and long-lead materials ● Ensure upcoming subcontractors, materials and inspections are coordinated with the construction schedule ● Conduct regular project-status meetings with Project Managers ● Create clear weekly reporting for ownership showing the status of every active project ● Identify operational bottlenecks and implement solutions ● Help develop and enforce company processes, systems and accountability standards What We Are Looking For We are not looking for someone who simply checks boxes or waits to be told what to do. We want someone who naturally asks: Where are we? What happens next? What’s behind? What’s over budget? Who owns it? And what are we doing about it? The right candidate should have: ● 5+ years of construction project management or construction operations experience preferred ● Strong understanding of residential and/or commercial construction ● Experience reading construction plans and understanding scopes of work ● Experience with permitting and municipal inspection processes ● Strong understanding of construction budgets and job costing ● Strong scheduling and Gantt-chart experience ● Ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously ● Excellent organizational and follow-through skills ● Ability to hold Project Managers accountable professionally and consistently ● Strong technology skills and willingness to learn our systems ● Excellent communication and leadership skills ● A proactive, problem-solving mindset Experience with construction management platforms such as Handoff, JobTread, Buildertrend, Procore, CoConstruct or similar software is highly valuable.
