Job description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Manager to oversee our manufacturing operations. The Plant Manager will be responsible for ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining quality control standards, and managing the overall operations of the plant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, production planning, and plant management. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement strategies to optimize production efficiency and reduce costs Oversee production planning and scheduling to meet customer demands Ensure compliance with quality control standards and implement continuous improvement initiatives Manage inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials Monitor and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions Lead a team of production supervisors and operators, providing guidance and support as needed Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence and achieve business objectives Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety policies and procedure Experience: Proven experience in plant management or related role Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices Demonstrated experience in production planning and scheduling Solid understanding of quality control systems and methodologies Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement Mechanical knowledge or background is preferred. Physical & Schedule Demands: Schedule: Ability to work different shifts, extended hours, Saturdays and overtime as weather and construction demands dictate, plus the stamina for physical yard work. Lifting and Moving: Must be able to frequently lift, carry, or maneuver weights typically ranging from 50 to 75 pounds (and occasionally up to 100 pounds). Mobility and Posture: Requires frequent standing, walking on rough or muddy surfaces, crawling, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, and twisting. Climbing: Must be able to regularly climb stairs, steps, or ladders to inspect silos, bins, and plant equipment (sometimes up to 20 times a day). Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands, fingers, and wrists to operate computer keyboards, batch consoles, switches, and paperwork. Sensory Abilities: Must have full color differentiation (to read control lights, concrete components, and safety signals), close and distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to hear alarms and heavy equipment noise. Working Environment & Hazards: Indoor and Outdoor Exposure: Work is split between an indoor batch control room and active outdoor plant yards. Weather Extremes: Exposure to high heat, cold, dust, moisture, wind, and rain. Jobsite Hazards: Intermittent exposure to loud noise, vibrations, moving machinery parts, wet or icy surfaces, cement dust, diesel fuel, and chemical admixtures.
