About the company Rios Interiors Corp. is seeking a dependable Company Driver / Construction Materials Delivery Driver to transport building materials, tools, supplies, and authorized crew members between suppliers, the main office, and active construction sites. This part-time position offers up to 32 hours per week and is ideal for an experienced delivery driver, courier, route driver, warehouse driver, or construction driver who is safety-conscious, organized, and highly detail-oriented. Key ResponsibilitiesSafe Vehicle Operation & Transportation Operate company vans or light trucks safely and lawfully in urban and construction environments. Transport building materials, tools, supplies, and authorized crew members to and from job sites. Follow all traffic laws, company safety policies, and vehicle-use procedures. Comply with New York City anti-idling regulations, including the maximum three-minute limit and one-minute limit near school zones. Practice defensive driving and maintain a professional, safety-focused driving record. Use hands-free communication only while driving; never text or engage in distracted driving. Construction Material Pickup & Delivery Pick up and deliver construction materials, interior-finishing supplies, equipment, and tools. Verify material orders against supervisor instructions before leaving the supplier. Confirm product dimensions, colors, quantities, brands, and specifications. Contact field supervisors when clarification is needed—never guess or substitute materials without approval. Safely load, secure, transport, and unload cargo to prevent damage to materials, vehicles, and job sites. Complete multi-stop deliveries and supplier pickups accurately and on schedule. Route Planning & Logistics Coordination Plan daily routes, supplier visits, job-site deliveries, and multi-stop runs. Use GPS and mapping tools to optimize routes, reduce backtracking, and conserve fuel. Monitor traffic conditions and communicate pickup confirmations, delays, and estimated arrival times. Coordinate regularly with Field Supervisors, Administration, suppliers, and project personnel. Maintain reliable delivery schedules and provide professional service at supplier and job-site locations. Receipts, Expenses & Mileage Records Use the company credit card only for authorized fuel, tolls, parking, and business expenses. Write the job name and project location on every physical receipt immediately after purchase. Submit all labeled receipts to the main office at the end of each shift. Maintain accurate mileage, fuel, toll, parking, and travel logs. Support basic delivery documentation, purchase verification, and proof-of-purchase procedures. Vehicle Inspection & Upkeep Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, including: Tire pressure and condition Fluid levels Lights and signals Brakes and visible safety equipment Cleanliness and cargo-area condition Keep the company vehicle clean, organized, and free of trash or loose debris. Protect the company’s branded vehicle wrap and interior. Report mechanical problems, unusual noises, warning lights, accidents, or body damage immediately. Follow preventive maintenance and fleet-safety procedures. Requirements & Qualifications Valid, active driver’s license and clean driving record. Ability to meet company insurance requirements and pass required license and background checks. Professional driving experience operating vans, light trucks, or delivery vehicles. Experience with construction sites, building materials, supplier pickups, or job-site deliveries preferred. Familiarity with New York City streets, traffic, parking, tolls, and urban driving conditions preferred.
