Sartin Construction & TruckingJob Overview Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Truck Driver to deliver freight efficiently and safely across various routes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate a variety of trucks, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, dry vans, and doubles while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. As a CDL truck driver, you will be the vital link in our logistics chain, ensuring timely deliveries and exceptional service for our customers. Your expertise in commercial truck driving and route management will drive our success forward! Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, across over-the-road (OTR) routes while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Plan and navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times and fuel efficiency. Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques, ensuring proper cargo securing for goods when applicable. Transport farm equipment or other specialized cargo with precision, following all safety protocols and hazardous materials regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks to identify maintenance needs or safety issues, maintaining compliance with trucking regulations. Manage documentation related to freight, including delivery manifests, load & unload records, and logs in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any route or cargo issues promptly. Qualifications Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with endorsements for tanker, doubles, or refrigerated trailer preferred. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and freight handling. Minimum of 2 years experience preferred. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for dangerous goods transportation. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and handle truck loading/unloading tasks manually. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning on over-the-road routes. Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling procedures for freight including refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, or tanker shipments. Clean driving record with a focus on safety and compliance at all times. We pay weekly. Your hours & wages are based off of the number of loads you are willing to haul. This job is what you make it.
