Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, adhering to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure efficient delivery schedules across over-the-road (OTR) routes. Load, secure, and unload freight with manual handling techniques, ensuring proper cargo handling for logistics cargo safety. Transport hazardous materials and dangerous goods following hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols. Deliver freight accurately to various destinations, including automobile transportation hubs or distribution centers, maintaining delivery schedules. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks to verify mechanical condition, safety equipment, and compliance with all safety regulations. Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, cargo documentation, inspection reports, and delivery records in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Experience Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record; experience operating tractor-trailers with manual transmission preferred. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving within logistics environments. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tankers, and transporting hazardous or dangerous goods. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety procedures related to truck loading/unloading. Experience handling freight in various conditions—manual handling skills essential for safe load & unload operations. Prior experience with GPS navigation systems for route planning on over-the-road (OTR) routes is highly desirable.
