Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and specialized freight vehicles across over-the-road (OTR) routes. Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured according to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Navigate using GPS systems to optimize routes, maintain timely deliveries, and adapt to changing traffic or road conditions. Transport hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods following all hazardous materials regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers to ensure compliance with safety standards. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and cargo manifests in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, route adjustments, or any incidents encountered during trips. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid CDL A license. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and automobile transportation logistics. Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for truck driving. Skilled in route planning using GPS navigation systems for efficient delivery routes. Ability to load and unload freight manually while ensuring cargo safety and compliance with logistics cargo handling standards. Experience with delivery driving on over-the-road (OTR) routes involving long-distance travel. Competence in handling hazardous or dangerous goods safely according to regulatory requirements. Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, manual transmission operation, and adherence to DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
