Job Summary As a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) A Truck Driver, you’ll move freight safely and reliably using a tractor-trailer. You’ll follow assigned routes, use GPS navigation, and handle cargo according to its type and transport requirements. Work may include local delivery driving or over-the-road (OTR) routes, depending on the assignment. This is a paid position. Duties Drive commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, with manual or automatic transmissions as assigned; complete route driving and deliveries safely. Load, unload, and secure freight using appropriate manual handling practices and equipment such as a forklift. Transport cargo in refrigerated trailers and, when assigned and qualified, flatbed, tanker, dump truck, or roll-off truck configurations. Follow GPS directions, delivery instructions, and applicable Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Complete required vehicle and shipment checks and follow hazardous materials and dangerous goods rules when transporting regulated cargo. Requirements Valid CDL Class A and the ability to meet applicable driving, vehicle, and safety requirements. Commercial truck driving, commercial driving, truck driving, or delivery driver experience; experience with delivery driving and OTR routes is useful. Knowledge of manual transmission operation, logistics cargo handling, truck loading and unloading, and freight securement. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, automobile transportation, and route driving is preferred; experience with flatbed, tanker, dump truck, or roll-off truck work is an asset. Hazmat (hazardous materials) qualifications, forklift experience, and knowledge of FMCSA, DOT, and hazardous materials regulations are preferred where relevant to assigned work.
