Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers and various commercial vehicles adhering to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to ensure on-time deliveries across over-the-road (OTR) routes. Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques, ensuring proper cargo securing for hazardous materials, dangerous goods, or specialized loads such as refrigerated or tanker cargo. Transport a variety of freight including refrigerated goods, hazardous materials, automobile transportation, flatbed loads, or tanker shipments while maintaining compliance with hazardous materials regulations. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips; report any mechanical issues promptly to maintain safety standards. Manage documentation accurately for delivery manifests, load & unload records, and compliance logs in accordance with FMCSA and DOT regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams using GPS and other communication tools to coordinate routes and address any delivery issues promptly. Experience Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving across OTR routes. Hands-on experience with truck loading and unloading procedures, manual transmission operation, and logistics cargo handling. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or other specialized equipment preferred. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, hazardous materials regulations, DOT compliance standards, and safety protocols related to trucking operations. Prior experience transporting freight that requires careful manual handling or special equipment such as hazardous or dangerous goods is highly desirable.
