Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers across over-the-road (OTR) routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Drive a variety of vehicles including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks to transport freight efficiently. Plan routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery schedules and ensure timely arrivals. Load and unload cargo manually or with equipment such as forklifts, ensuring proper handling of logistics cargo including hazardous materials and dangerous goods. Secure loads properly for transportation, adhering to hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols. Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips; report any maintenance issues promptly. Maintain accurate documentation for deliveries, pickups, logs, and compliance records in line with FMCSA and DOT regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery statuses, or unforeseen delays. Requirements Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record; experience with manual transmission preferred. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving across diverse environments. Knowledge of refrigerated trailer operations, hazardous materials regulations, and logistics cargo handling procedures. Ability to operate specialized equipment such as forklift or dump trucks when necessary. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning for over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Understanding of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), and hazardous materials regulations to ensure compliance at all times. Strong manual handling skills for loading/unloading freight safely and efficiently. Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, hazard awareness, and customer service excellence.
