Duties Safely operate commercial trucks with manual or automatic transmissions across regional over-the-road (OTR) routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured properly in refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or other specialized equipment. Transport hazardous materials and dangerous goods following all hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols. Utilize GPS navigation systems to plan optimal routes, monitor delivery progress, and adapt to changing traffic conditions. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on tractor-trailers to verify vehicle safety and compliance with DOT standards. Deliver freight efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service; handle delivery documentation accurately and promptly. Assist with logistics cargo handling, including truck loading/unloading processes, ensuring proper weight distribution and cargo security. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid CDL A license; familiarity with manual transmission preferred. Knowledge of refrigerated trailer operations, flatbed hauling, tanker transport, and automobile transportation is highly desirable. Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT compliance standards, and hazardous materials regulations. Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety; experience with route driving and delivery driving across regional OTR routes. Proficiency in using GPS navigation tools for route planning and real-time tracking. Ability to manually handle freight safely and efficiently during loading/unloading procedures. Strong communication skills for interacting professionally with dispatch teams, customers, and regulatory authorities.
