Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Driver's License A Owner Operator and take charge of delivering freight across diverse routes with confidence and professionalism. You will operate your tractor-trailer delivering drop and hook and live load/unload containers out of the Port of Savannah. Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual or automatic transmissions across over-the-road (OTR) routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Transport freight efficiently using GPS navigation systems to optimize routes and meet delivery schedules. Maintain safety standards in accordance with local/state and federal regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, including checking for mechanical issues and verifying load securement. Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in compliance with regulatory requirements. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate deliveries, resolve issues promptly, and provide exceptional customer service. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid CDL A license; familiarity with manual handling and manual transmission operation. Extensive knowledge of trucking regulations including FMCSA, DOT, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for truck loading/unloading. Strong navigation skills utilizing GPS systems for route planning on OTR driving routes. Ability to handle logistics cargo safely and efficiently while complying with all safety protocols for hazardous goods if applicable. Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, manual handling expertise, and route driving efficiency.
