Overview Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Over-the-Road (OTR) Driver and take on the exciting challenge of transporting freight across long distances while ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance. Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission across long-distance routes, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and hazardous materials regulations when applicable. Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured properly in refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, or tankers for safe transit. Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems, planning optimal routes for timely deliveries while complying with route driving best practices. Transport various types of freight including hazardous materials, dangerous goods, or specialized cargo such as automobile transportation or logistics cargo handling. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks to identify maintenance needs or safety issues; document findings accurately in compliance with FMCSA standards. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or vehicle issues; maintain logs of driving hours and delivery records as mandated by DOT regulations. Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and professionally, providing excellent customer service during pickup and delivery processes. Qualifications Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record; experience operating tractor-trailers preferred. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, especially over-the-road (OTR) routes involving freight delivery across multiple states. Knowledge of refrigerated trailer operation, flatbed securing techniques, tanker handling, and hazardous materials regulations is highly desirable. Ability to handle manual transmission trucks confidently and perform manual handling tasks related to load & unload operations. Familiarity with GPS navigation tools and route planning software to optimize delivery schedules. Strong understanding of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) safety standards. Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, hazard awareness, and compliance; previous delivery driver experience is a plus. Ability to manage logistics cargo handling efficiently while adhering to safety protocols for dangerous goods or hazardous materials when necessary.
