CLASS A CDL ROUTE DRIVER

Job Summary As a CDL Class A Professional Driver, you will be responsible for safe and timely deliveries while maintaining safe and efficient vehicles. This home daily position is ideal for the experienced driver with strong customer service skills, a commitment to safety, and a desire to take ownership of an important regional route. Hazmat and airbrake endorsements are required, along with a clean MVR and the ability to drive both manual and automatic tractors. Responsibilities Organize customer paperwork and fill out delivery and other reports In conjunction with Transportation Manager, review and determine daily delivery priorities Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of tractors and trailers and complete inspection logs Safely load compressed gas cylinders, dry ice totes, and other products onto vehicles Prepare truck load manifests and deliver products to customer locations while abiding to load safety, DOT, and general safety guidelines Verify delivery quantities, obtain necessary signatures from vendors and customers Communicate respectfully and professionally to customers and all business associates and report all concerns to the appropriate manager (s) Monitor customer deliveries and returns using TrackAbout and other systems Maintain the cleanliness and safety of assigned vehicles Report mechanical issues to manager, ensuring the tractor and trailer are roadworthy, and coordinate the maintenance of vehicles as needed Resolve issues pertaining to route and operations and notify manager of problems that you cannot resolve Participate in safety meetings and in the company’s Safety Program, helping to ensure that DOT and other safety requirements are met Perform other duties as assigned by management to ensure safety, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction Qualifications Possess forklift license and CDL Class A driver’s license with hazardous material , and airbrake endorsements . Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission Class A vehicles. Have safe driving record as exhibited by state MVR reports Be mentally alert, adaptable, flexible, and professional in dealing with customer needs Complete basic mathematical calculations and accurately fill out paperwork Effectively plan and organize delivery schedules Be fluent in the English language and written communication (Spanish as a second language a plus.) Ability to freely traverse company premises: bend, reach, lift and reposition self to move compressed gas cylinders and other products (sometimes in excess of 100 pounds) using the appropriate lifting and support equipment Ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and trucks Work in diverse indoor and outdoor weather conditions Ability to work before or after normal works hours in case of emergencies Join us as a Local CDL Class A Route Driver and be part of a dynamic team dedicated to delivering excellence!
