Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and safety-conscious Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A oversized load Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating large commercial trucks, to transport oversized loads across various routes. Your expertise in heavy-duty driving, adherence to traffic laws, and commitment to safety will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of customer service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors and contribute to efficient waste management operations with a focus on safety and reliability. Duties Safely operate commercial trucks with oversized loads, following all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and state transportation laws. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues and ensure compliance with safety protocols. Navigate route driving efficiently while adhering to traffic laws, safety regulations, and hazardous materials regulations when applicable. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and vehicle maintenance reports in accordance with DOT requirements. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and pickups while providing excellent customer service. Perform routine maintenance checks on trucks and mechanical equipment; report any repairs needed promptly. Ensure outdoor work is conducted safely by following hazard prevention procedures during loading, unloading, and route driving activities. Qualifications Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record and experience operating oversized load trucks (preferred) Proven 2 years minimum experience in commercial truck driving Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation and basic truck maintenance. Knowledge of traffic laws, hazardous materials regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation), and state transportation regulations. Demonstrated defensive driving skills combined with a strong commitment to safety protocol adherence. Ability to perform heavy lifting during load & unload operations in outdoor environments. Experience operating manual transmission trucks is advantageous. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with clients and team members. Outdoor work experience in various weather conditions is preferred.
