About D2 Excavation D2 Excavation is a local Eugene construction company specializing in excavation and concrete projects. Our work includes residential, commercial, and public works projects throughout the area. Our trucking operations support company projects and outside customers through material delivery, equipment transportation, and local hauling. About the Role We are seeking a dependable Class A CDL Truck Driver to transport construction materials and equipment between job sites, suppliers, and designated facilities. This position supports excavation, paving, and construction operations and requires safe driving, careful equipment operation, and clear communication with dispatch and job-site crews. Key Responsibilities Safely operate dump trucks and other assigned commercial vehicles within your license, training, and company authorization. Haul asphalt, aggregate, gravel, soil, and other construction materials. Transport heavy equipment when qualified and authorized. Verify safe loading, unloading, weight distribution, tarping, and load securement for assigned loads. Complete required pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Report defects, damage, and maintenance needs promptly. Follow job-site traffic controls and safe backing procedures, especially around crews, moving equipment, and uneven terrain. Follow applicable traffic laws, DOT and Oregon motor carrier regulations, hours-of-service limits, and company safety procedures. Communicate with dispatch, supervisors, crews, and customers about assignments, delays, and changing site conditions. Maintain accurate hauling tickets, delivery records, required inspection reports, driver logs or time records, and other assigned documentation. Keep assigned vehicles clean and report accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions. Stop work and notify a supervisor when conditions are unsafe. Perform related duties consistent with your training, qualifications, and safety requirements. Required Qualifications Valid Class A CDL with required endorsements and no restrictions preventing operation of assigned vehicles and trailers. A safe driving record that meets applicable regulatory requirements and the company's job-related driving standards. Ability to meet applicable minimum-age, DOT medical qualification, and other commercial driver qualification requirements. Knowledge of commercial vehicle inspections, safe loading and securement, and transportation safety requirements. Ability to operate safely in active construction environments and recognize changing site hazards. Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to meet applicable commercial-driver requirements, including understanding signs, responding to official inquiries, and completing records. Dependable attendance, sound judgment, and effective communication with dispatch, crews, and customers. Ability to meet the stated schedule and perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation. Preferred Qualifications Commercial driving experience in construction, excavation, paving, or aggregate hauling. Experience operating dump trucks, hauling asphalt, or transporting heavy construction equipment. Experience loading and securing equipment, operating manual-transmission commercial vehicles, and recognizing common mechanical issues. Familiarity with Eugene-area roads, construction sites, and material suppliers. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Work takes place in trucks and at active construction sites. Duties include extended sitting; frequent truck entry and exit; walking on uneven ground; climbing, bending, and reaching during inspections; and handling chains, binders, and tarps.
