CDL Regional Driver

WHAT YOU'LL DO As a CDL-A Regional Flatbed Driver, you'll safely transport steel products using a tractor and flatbed trailer. Responsibilities include: Safely operate tractor/trailer equipment Secure loads using chains, straps, and other approved securement devices Complete shipping and delivery paperwork accurately and on time Follow DOT regulations and company safety requirements Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections Maintain HOS, DVIRs, proof of deliveries, fuel receipts, and other required records Communicate with supervisors, sales, customers, and our transportation network Promptly report accidents, incidents, equipment concerns, and safety issues Help ensure cargo arrives safely and securely at its destination WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Required: Valid CDL-A Valid Medical Examiner's Certificate Acceptable motor vehicle record Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation safety standards Ability to safely handle the physical demands associated with flatbed driving Strong communication skills Commitment to Safety, Accountability, Integrity, and Responsibility Preferred: 1 year of flatbed experience (not required) High school diploma or equivalent We hire new drivers from FMCSA approved ELDT (Entry-Level Driver Training) schools PAY Minimum weekly pay: $1,478 for OTR drivers who meet daily check-in/check-out and work-assignment requirements $0.60 per mile $17.30 per stop $17.30 per trip $17.30/hour for delay and other qualifying hourly activities $52.50 layover pay paid as an expense, not taxable income Paid weekly BENEFITS Steel and Pipe Supply offers a strong benefits package, including: Company pays approximately 80% of medical insurance costs for employees and their families Company-paid life insurance Company-paid short- and long-term disability insurance 401(k) with a 50% company match on employee contributions up to 6% of annual wages Annual and quarterly profit sharing based on location and company performance Annual holiday bonus based on company performance Safety bonus/company store credits Uniform shirts, boots, and personal protective equipment Scholarship opportunities for children of eligible long-term employees Paid personal time as it accrues, up to one week per year 1-week paid vacation after 6 months 2 weeks paid vacation after 1 year To ensure driver safety, SPS currently partners with an outside vendor for DOT compliance.
