In this energetic role, you will be responsible for safely transporting logs and other freight using specialized tractor-trailers across over-the-road (OTR) routes. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, combined with your knowledge of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and hazardous materials handling, will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Duties Operate tractor-trailers equipped for log and freight transportation, including flatbed and tanker configurations, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safety protocols Navigate efficiently using GPS navigation systems to follow designated routes across OTR driving routes, ensuring timely deliveries Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and inspection reports in accordance with FMCSA regulations Load and unload freight with attention to detail, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement for safe transport Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route adjustments, delivery schedules, or safety concerns Qualifications Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with good driving record. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, especially with log trucks or freight delivery on OTR routes Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and hazard communication standards Skilled in truck loading/unloading techniques Strong understanding of GPS navigation tools and route planning for efficient delivery scheduling Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely while loading/unloading cargo under various conditions We’re committed to supporting your professional growth by providing a safe working environment and opportunities to excel in commercial truck driving.
