Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and specialized equipment for transporting hazardous materials and dangerous goods Navigate routes using GPS systems, adhering to planned schedules and optimizing delivery efficiency across over-the-road (OTR) routes Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques or equipment such as forklifts, ensuring cargo is secured according to logistics cargo handling standards Comply with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, hazardous materials regulations, and other safety protocols during all phases of driving and cargo management Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to verify truck condition, safety features, and proper functioning of refrigeration units when applicable Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance in accordance with regulatory requirements Communicate effectively with dispatchers for route updates or delivery instructions while providing excellent customer service during drop-offs and pickups Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on route driving and delivery driving Knowledge of trucking equipment including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, refrigerated trailers, and hazardous materials handling Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and handle manual loading/unloading processes Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning and real-time adjustments Understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazard materials regulations, and safety standards for transporting dangerous goods Skilled in truck loading/unloading techniques using forklifts or manual methods while maintaining safety protocols Strong driving skills with a clean record in commercial driving environments involving freight transportation across varying distances Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour Work Location: In person
