Turn Your CDL-A Into Real Regional Driving Experience If you already have your Class A CDL but still need professional driving experience, this regional position gives you a structured path from training into your own assigned truck. You'll begin with paid behind-the-wheel training with an experienced driver, then move into a regional dry van operation running primarily through Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Pennsylvania. PAID CDL-A TRAINING Approximately 3-5 weeks of paid driver training 200-250 hours of behind-the-wheel training Trainee pay based on your hiring area Orientation lasts no more than two days $300 orientation payment paid upon hire REGIONAL PAY & MILES Average earnings of $1,200-$1,400 per week after training Approximately 1,800 miles per week $40 short-haul pay on loads under 100 miles $15 stop pay Performance bonus opportunity Weekly pay YOUR TRUCK Mainly Freightliner tractors Automatic and 10-speed manual transmissions Average tractor age of approximately 1.5 years Permanently assigned truck - no slip seating THE REGIONAL OPERATION Expect dry van freight throughout the Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Pennsylvania region. The operation includes a mix of drop-and-hook freight, live loads and unloads, and preloaded trailers. Drivers must be prepared for both day and night driving as well as weekend work when the operation requires it. HOME TIME Regular 34-hour resets with weekend home time give you regional experience without starting your career on a traditional long-haul schedule that keeps you away for weeks at a time.
