Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and experienced CDL A Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers to transport freight across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Your expertise will ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Responsibilities Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers with manual transmissions, ensuring compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Transport freight efficiently over long distances, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other specialized equipment as needed. Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques, ensuring proper securing of hazardous materials and dangerous goods according to hazardous materials regulations. Utilize GPS navigation systems to follow optimized routes and ensure on-time deliveries across diverse locations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, checking for mechanical issues, safety hazards, and proper load securement. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports in compliance with regulatory standards. Communicate effectively with dispatch and logistics teams to coordinate route driving and delivery schedules. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving with a focus on freight handling. Knowledge of refrigerated trailer operations, hazardous materials regulations, and dangerous goods transportation. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and handle complex logistics cargo handling tasks. Familiarity with GPS navigation tools for efficient route planning on over-the-road (OTR) routes. Strong understanding of DOT regulations, FMCSA guidelines, and safety protocols for commercial driving. Skilled in truck loading and unloading techniques, including freight management for various cargo types such as flatbed or tanker loads. Excellent driving record demonstrating safe tractor-trailer operation over extended distances.
