Job Overview We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier/Customer Service Associate to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional customer service, handle transactions accurately, and contribute to a positive shopping experience. This role involves engaging with customers, managing sales transactions, and supporting store operations to ensure smooth daily functions. Prior experience in retail sales, cashiering, or grocery store environments is preferred. Bilingual skills are a plus to assist a diverse customer base. The position offers an opportunity to develop sales and merchandising skills while working in a dynamic retail setting. Responsibilities Operate POS systems efficiently to process customer transactions accurately Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries Handle cash handling duties with precision and ensure proper change is given Upsell products and promote special offers or product demos to enhance sales Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented Assist with inventory management and stock replenishment as needed Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when communicating with customers over the phone or via other channels Support store operations through basic cashiering tasks and ensuring a clean, welcoming environment Supervise or assist in supervising team members when required, fostering a collaborative work environment Skills Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures Strong communication skills, including clear phone etiquette and effective interpersonal interactions Basic math skills for retail math calculations and transaction accuracy Experience in retail sales, merchandising, stocking, and product demos preferred Ability to upsell and promote products confidently to customers Bilingual abilities are advantageous for serving diverse clientele Supervising experience is a plus for leadership roles within the team Customer service-oriented mindset with a friendly demeanor and professional appearance Knowledge of grocery store operations is beneficial for roles in food retail environments Job Type: Part-time Pay: $10.00 per hour Benefits: Employee discount Flexible schedule Work Location: In person
