Cashier

Job Overview We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, handle transactions efficiently, and contribute to a positive shopping experience. This role involves operating POS systems, managing cash handling procedures, and supporting store merchandising efforts. Bilingual skills and supervising experience are a plus, as is the ability to perform product demos and upsell merchandise. The Cashier will play a vital role in ensuring smooth store operations and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced grocery store environment. Responsibilities Operate POS systems accurately to process customer transactions Handle cash, credit, and debit payments with precision and integrity Assist customers with product inquiries and provide exceptional customer service Maintain knowledge of store products for effective upselling and product demos Support merchandising activities, including stocking shelves and organizing displays Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and welcoming Enforce phone etiquette when assisting customers via phone or in person Assist with inventory management and stock replenishment as needed Supervise or assist other team members during busy periods when required Promote sales through suggestive selling techniques Requirements Previous cashiering experience, preferably in retail or grocery stores Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math skills Strong communication skills and friendly phone etiquette Ability to handle cash accurately and perform basic math calculations Customer service-oriented mindset with a positive attitude Bilingual abilities are preferred to serve diverse customer bases Supervising experience is a plus but not mandatory Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and retail sales practices is advantageous This position offers an engaging work environment where excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach are valued.
