Duties Operate the cash register (POS system) accurately to process retail sales transactions, including cash handling, credit card payments, and mobile payments. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or demos. Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance sales opportunities while maintaining a friendly demeanor. Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure the sales floor is tidy and well-merchandised to maximize product visibility. Conduct product demos when applicable to educate customers about features and benefits of items. Handle cash drawer handling responsibilities with precision, balancing registers at shift end and maintaining accurate records. Maintain knowledge of store products, including grocery or retail items, to assist customers effectively and provide recommendations. Skills Proven experience with POS systems and cashiering operations in a retail or grocery environment. Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear information and excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers remotely or over the phone. Supervising experience is a plus, especially when guiding new team members or managing customer interactions during busy periods. Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customer bases effectively. Demonstrated ability in retail math for accurate cash handling, sales calculations, and inventory management. Knowledge of merchandising techniques and stock replenishment strategies to keep the store inviting and organized. Customer service excellence with a friendly attitude, patience, and problem-solving skills to handle various situations professionally.
