Cargo transportation manager

Job Summary As a Cargo Transportation Manager, you’ll coordinate freight movement and distribution operations from planning through delivery. You’ll guide teams, manage budgets and performance, and work across supply chain, warehouse, purchasing, and production functions to keep cargo moving safely and efficiently. Your impact: Effective transportation planning and inventory control help customers and internal teams receive the right materials and orders when they need them. Responsibilities Lead transportation management, dispatching, fleet management, and freight coordination, including work with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and non-vessel-operating common carriers (NVOCCs). Oversee warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, order fulfillment, warehouse distribution, and inventory management. Manage budgeting and profit and loss (P&L); use supply chain analytics to monitor costs, service, and operational performance. Coordinate demand and production planning, procurement, purchasing, and materials management with supply chain partners. Improve processes through Lean methods and continuous improvement; maintain transportation management systems, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, warehouse management systems, and AS400 records. Qualifications Experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain management, distribution management, or operations management; warehouse experience, including warehouse supervisor experience, is valuable. Supervising or team management experience, with clear managerial communication and process management skills. Knowledge of transportation planning, inventory control, warehouse management, distribution operations, and freight. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, transportation management systems, ERP systems, warehouse management systems, and AS400. Forklift experience is useful; budgeting, process improvement, Lean, demand planning, production planning, and supply chain analytics are preferred. Work Location: On the road
