Buyer / Purchasing & MRP Specialist

Join Our Team We are looking for an experienced and motivated Buyer / Purchasing & MRP Specialist to join our manufacturing team in Ontario, California. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys keeping things moving. You’ll work with suppliers, production, inventory, receiving, accounting, and other departments to help ensure the materials we need are available when we need them. You won’t simply be issuing purchase orders. You’ll be involved in purchasing, MRP (Material Requirements Planning), supplier coordination, material availability, and inventory , making this a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems and having a direct impact on manufacturing operations. What You'll Do Purchasing & Supplier Management Create and manage purchase orders for electronic components, materials, parts, and supplies used in our manufacturing operations.. Work directly with suppliers on pricing, availability, lead times, delivery dates, and order status. Request and evaluate supplier quotations. Negotiate pricing and purchasing terms when appropriate. Manage recurring requirements and blanket purchase orders. Track outstanding purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to keep materials moving. Help resolve purchasing, pricing, receiving, and supplier discrepancies. MRP & Material Planning Review MRP requirements and purchasing recommendations to determine what materials need to be ordered. Help ensure materials required for manufacturing are available when production needs them. Monitor inventory availability, supplier lead times, material requirements, and outstanding purchase orders. Identify potential material shortages and work with the appropriate teams to resolve them. Coordinate purchasing activities with production and inventory requirements. Maintain accurate purchasing and material-planning information in the company's ERP system. Work Across the Manufacturing Team Communicate with production, inventory, receiving, accounting, and other departments. Help coordinate incoming materials with current and upcoming manufacturing requirements. Support inventory and material-planning activities. Keep supplier, purchasing, and material information accurate and up to date. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a manufacturing environment where priorities, supplier lead times, and material requirements can change. The ideal candidate will have: Experience in purchasing, procurement, buying, or a related role. Experience working with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) and/or ERP systems. A solid understanding of purchasing and inventory concepts. Strong supplier communication and follow-up skills. Good organizational skills and attention to detail. The ability to manage multiple purchase orders, suppliers, deadlines, and changing priorities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. A practical, problem-solving approach to keeping materials flowing. Even Better If You Have Purchasing or buying experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with Odoo ERP is a plus. Experience working with bills of material (BOMs), inventory, production requirements, or manufacturing planning. Experience managing supplier quotations, lead times, purchase orders, and blanket orders.
