Contec Americas Inc.Buyer/Planner, Onsite Location: Melbourne, Florida | Onsite We are looking for a Buyer/Planner to join our Supply Chain team in Melbourne, Florida. This role combines purchasing and material planning to help ensure the right materials are available when production needs them. The Buyer/Planner works closely with suppliers, Production, Engineering, Quality, and other teams to manage material requirements, purchase orders, shortages, inventory, and inbound deliveries. The position uses ERP/MRP data to identify priorities, address supply risks, and support reliable production schedules. What You'll Do Review customer demand, forecasts, inventory, and MRP recommendations to determine material requirements. Develop and maintain material plans for assigned products. Issue and manage purchase orders with approved suppliers. Confirm supplier commitments for price, quantity, and delivery. Monitor material availability and resolve shortages. Follow up on past-due purchase orders and supplier delivery issues. Coordinate inbound shipments to ensure material arrives when needed. Evaluate routine shipping options, timing, and freight costs. Maintain purchasing and planning information in the ERP/MRP system. Support work-order and production-planning activities as assigned. Support engineering changes, substitutions, new products, and material phase-in/phase-out activity. Identify supply or delivery risks early and coordinate corrective actions. Participate in supply, shortage, backlog, and operational reviews. Support continuous improvement of purchasing and planning processes. What We're Looking For Required High school diploma or equivalent. Relevant experience in purchasing, production planning, materials, supply chain, manufacturing operations, or a related area. Working knowledge of purchasing, MRP/material planning, inventory control, and manufacturing supply chains. Ability to interpret bills of material, lead times, supplier commitments, and production requirements. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow issues through resolution. Highly Preferred Bachelor's degree in supply chain, operations, business, analytics, engineering, or a related field. Experience with NetSuite ERP/MRP functionality. Manufacturing ERP/MRP experience. Project management skills and experience coordinating cross-functional projects or actions. Experience supporting multi-level bills of material, engineering changes, or new product introductions. Experience coordinating suppliers and inbound logistics. Strong Microsoft Excel skills. ASCM/APICS CPIM or CSCP, ISM CPSM, or another relevant certification. Why This Role Matters This position connects supplier execution, material availability, and production needs .
