Applicants for this position must provide a resume with their application Department: Purchasing Job Title: Buyer III Job Grade: 10 Hourly Pay Rate: $24.55 Location: 501 North Thompson, Suite 405 Conroe, TX 77301 Civil Service: Not Applicable Shift Hours: Monday – Friday (8:00am – 5:00pm) Education, Experience High School Diploma Minimum of three years of experience in an office setting. Licensure Professional Procurement certification preferred such as but not limited to CPPB, CPPO, NIGP-CPP. If not certified, a desire to obtain certification once eligible. Knowledge Skills & Abilities Some knowledge of purchasing and contract principles. Ability to manage complex projects with limited supervision. Excellent planning, time-management, and organization skills. Ability to manage and prioritize work to meet deadlines. Ability to self-motivate and take initiative. Results driven and detail oriented. Excellent communication skills verbal and written; strong, active listening skills. Comfort and experience interfacing with various levels of staff and management, including elected officials, while working in a deadline driven environment. Ability to work in a team environment to solve problems/issues. Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excell, Excel and Outlook Proficient in Adobe Acrobat Essential Functions and Duties Assists in preparing specifications for bids and proposals describing product/service requirements. Publicly opens bids and proposals as needed. Assists with the review and tabulation of formal bids for recommendation to Commissioners’ Court. Assists with special projects and other duties as assigned. After receiving a conditional offer of employment, applicant must pass a drug screen (1/2 cost = $20.00, responsibility of applicant) and may need a physical agility test (1/2 cost = $22.50, responsibility of applicant) before becoming an employee of Montgomery County.
