Buyer I

Job Summary: Reporting to the Senior Buyer, the Buyer 1 is responsible for processing, confirming, and tracking purchase orders for the Remico plant to meet production material needs. The Buyer will work closely with the Inventory Specialist at Remico to maintain required levels of inventory to meet customer orders. The buyer will work cross-functionally with all departments — including Quality, Sales, Shipping and Logistics, and Customer Service — to understand the sales forecast, historical performance, and customer demand so they make appropriate and accurate buying decisions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Write, confirm, and track purchase orders for the Remico plant based on production material needs. 2. Place approved MRO purchase orders as needed. 3. Assist the Quality team to resolve quality issues with purchased materials. 4. Provide support to Inventory Specialist. 5. Back up other GRFT buyers as needed. 6. Track On-Time Delivery and late orders from vendors. 7. Work with accounting department to resolve any pricing discrepancies on Purchase Orders. 8. Seek out process improvements and participating in continuous improvement activities. 9. Pursue GRFT’s material and cost reduction goals. 10. Maintain GRFT values daily through thoughts and actions. 11. Consistently adhere to and support company policies, work instructions and/or other procedures, and ISO requirements. 12. Treat all coworkers with dignity and respect. 13. Perform all other related duties as assigned. Experience: Candidates will preferably have a bachelor's degree and some previous buying experience Skills: · Strong communication skills, both written and verbal · Organization and time management skills · Attention to detail · Computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Excel · Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment · Team-Oriented Attitude Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
