GirbauPOSITION OVERVIEW We are looking for an experienced Buyer to become the responsible for the Purchase Department, The successful candidate should provide its background on American Metallurgical Outsourcing Market, as well as on international trade in order to maintain efficiency, reduce cost, improve sustainability and maximize profitability. RESPONSIBILITIES · Develop, configure and optimize a category strategy to optimize the purchasing cost. · Generate technical proposals to improve the product or reduce its cost. · Keep update the supplier register and the price register · Review and adapt, if it is needed, the corporate Purchase process and procedures · Review and adapt, together with the Quality and Technical areas, the homologation protocols for each product category. · Manage cost constraints · Perform risk assessments · Provide process documentation and operating instructions · Safety and Productivity: Committing to plant safety procedures and optimizing productivity. · Employee Relations: Addressing employee issues or grievances and administering collective bargaining agreements. · Continuous Learning: Staying up to date with Purchasing best practices. MAIN ACTIVITIES Here below the list of necessary but not restrictive activities. This non-exhaustive list will be supplemented by department or company additional arrangement. 1.General: · Be fully compliant with company legal and business policy · Audit and maintain the set ISO procedures related to its department. · Organize and structure your team to reach the company target (training, org chart, JD) · Control and achieve the defined at the beginning of the year (economy, quality, OTIF…) from your managed departments. · Get to know the latest market trend and the new technologies, propose new ideas and innovation to keep our product portfolio in line with the company strategy. · Strongly support the QHSE on safety and Quality related action plan. 2. Purchasing: · Monitor purchasing targets as per company KPI. · Make or buy analysis, suggesting if necessary internal investments for manufacturing parts instead of buying ones. · Proposal of process or product modifications to achieve savings. · Monitor and inspire product quality improvement by joint effort with Quality team. · Promote the issuance of regular cost saving ideas and monito the implementation. Record the savings. · Develop an American panel of suppliers. à MAIN INITIAL ACTIVITY 3. Work environment management: · Manage and update the e-files and the paper files, and ensure the files can be accessible and used correctly. · Take care that our suppliers fulfill with the environment and healthy regulations. · Performance indicator: · Cost savings · Optimize suppliers delivery times · Promote the collaboration of suppliers in product definition and its adaptation to the American standards. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE · Enginering and/or Business Administration education EXPERIENCE REQUIRED · Purchasing experience (at least 3 year) in steel raw materials, welding/machining consumables, motors and electric components. Subcontracting process (paining, machining, steel structure) · Supplier sourcing, development, evaluation, management. · Proven success in saving plan. · Good knowledge of RNC process and claim and compensation. · Proven work experience in Purchasing Department Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Application Question(s): Which are your salary expectations?
