Do you keep materials moving and suppliers accountable? Ferco Tech is looking for a Buyer who stays ahead of shortages, follows through on commitments, and understands that every purchase order plays a part in keeping production on schedule. At Ferco Tech, the Buyer connects our suppliers with our manufacturing needs. You’ll manage purchasing from the initial quote through delivery and issue resolution, making sure our teams have the materials, tooling, and services they need to meet customer commitments. We’re looking for someone who takes ownership, asks the right questions, and speaks up before a supplier delay becomes a production problem. What You’ll Do Own the Purchasing Process Purchase raw materials, outside processing services, tooling, packaging, maintenance supplies, and other materials and services needed to support manufacturing. Prepare requests for quotation and purchase orders with complete, accurate requirements. Compare supplier quotations for pricing, lead times, minimum order quantities, freight, capacity, and commercial terms. Obtain supplier acknowledgments and confirm pricing, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates. Keep Production Moving Actively manage open purchase orders, past-due deliveries, expedites, and material shortages. Follow up with suppliers to secure commitments and drive outstanding issues to resolution. Identify supply risks early and communicate delivery impacts and recovery plans. Work closely with Planning, Production, Engineering, and Quality to support changing priorities and urgent production needs. Solve Problems and Strengthen Supplier Performance Resolve receiving, invoice, pricing, quantity, quality, and delivery discrepancies with suppliers and internal teams. Research alternate suppliers, obtain competitive quotes, and support supplier qualification activities. Support negotiations, cost-reduction initiatives, and supplier performance improvements. Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier correspondence, and ERP/MRP data. What We’re Looking For Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred; equivalent purchasing or manufacturing experience will be considered. Two to five years of purchasing, procurement, supply-chain, or manufacturing experience preferred. Experience purchasing direct materials, outside processing, or indirect materials in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred. Aerospace or other regulated manufacturing experience is a plus. ERP/MRP experience required; Epicor experience preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and general business software. Strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple suppliers, priorities, and deadlines. Clear communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret purchase specifications, material requirements, drawings, and supplier documentation needed to place and manage orders. A strong sense of ownership, urgency, and follow-through.
