Overview
An Aerospace Buyer manages the procurement of aircraft components, raw materials, and specialized services while ensuring compliance with strict industry standards, quality requirements, and delivery timelines.
Key Responsibilities
· Source and purchase aerospace parts, materials, and equipment
· Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability
· Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms
· Ensure compliance with aviation regulations (e.g., FAA, AS9100 standards)
· Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues (delays, defects, shortages)
· Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation
· Coordinate with engineering, production, and quality teams
· Track inventory levels and forecast purchasing needs
· Manage purchase orders and ensure on-time delivery
Required Skills
· Strong negotiation and communication skills
· Knowledge of supply chain and procurement processes
· Familiarity with aerospace standards and regulations
· Analytical and problem-solving abilities
· Attention to detail and accuracy
· Proficiency in ERP systems (like SAP or Oracle)

Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Engineering, or related field
· 2–5+ years of procurement or purchasing experience (aerospace preferred)
· Certifications such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) are a plus
