Busing Manager
CDCentersSummary: The Busing Manager is responsible for the overall transportation and busing operations, including the supervision of Erie County Bus Drivers. The Busing Manager ensures adherence to all transportation safety requirements and applicable regulations. This position is responsible for ensuring the safe transportation of children, supervising transportation staff, maintaining compliance with licensing and safety regulations, coordinating bus maintenance, and assisting with overall busing operations. Responsibilities and Duties: Oversee all transportation services ensuring children are transported safely and efficiently. Develop and maintain transportation routes and schedules. Provide supervision and leadership to bus drivers that promotes a culture of safety and excellence. Conduct transportation staff training on safety procedures, child supervision, emergency response, and regulatory compliance. Ensure vehicle inspections are completed as required and coordinate routine maintenance and repairs. Maintain accurate transportation records, including but not limited to, attendance records, vehicle logs, pre- and post-trip inspection logs, incident reports, and maintenance documentation. Monitor compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations. Investigate and document transportation incidents, accidents, or safety concerns. Assist with the evaluation and purchasing of materials, equipment, and supplies. Positively communicate with parents and/or families regarding CDC transportation. Administer annual performance evaluations for busing staff in a timely manner. Informally monitor bus drivers and provide ongoing feedback regarding job performance. Demonstrate a high level of professionalism when communicating with employees or families. Create and maintain a safe and nurturing culture that embodies the mission of the CDC organization. Adhere to all CDC policies and procedures as set forth in the policy manual. Collaborate with CDC leadership to support continuous quality improvement. Assist with interviewing, hiring and training new bus drivers. Qualifications/Requirements: Associate's degree in Business Administration, Transportation Management, or related field preferred. Minimum of a High School Diploma and 2 years of management experience Valid CDL Class B license with S and P Endorsements, which must be carried at all times while operating a bus owned by Child Development Centers, Inc. Must be eligible as an insured motorist on all company motor vehicle policies and coverages Must possess or obtain required state and federal background clearances Must carry a copy of Current PA School Bus Driver Physical Examination Certificate at all times while operating a bus owned by Child Development Centers, Inc. Knowledge of child transportation safety regulations and early childhood program operations. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Employees are expected to arrive on time, every day, able and available to work. May require travel to other centers within the county Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for long periods throughout the workday with intermittent periods of sitting, walking, and occasional bending, twisting, stooping, reaching and grasping as necessary to carry out essential job duties. Dexterity requirements range from coordinated movements of fingers and hands to simple movements of feet, legs, and torso as necessary to carry out essential job duties.
