Building Materials Sales Associate

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a key point of contact for clients seeking high-quality hardscape and landscape materials, providing expert guidance and personalized service. Your responsibilities will include assisting customers with product selection, demonstrating product features, and facilitating sales transactions to ensure a seamless shopping experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a passion for helping clients realize their outdoor renovation and remodeling projects. Duties Engage with customers through out all areas of the company, focusing on the hardscapes, bulk landscaping and building materials. Conduct product demonstrations, including lighting solutions, fixtures, and layout options. Assist clients in designing layouts for outdoor renovations or new construction projects, offering insights on materials based on the project. Build strong customer relationships through effective communication, upselling complementary products, and providing exceptional service. Manage sales transactions accurately using POS systems and handle cash or credit payments with professionalism. Support merchandising efforts by organizing stock displays and ensuring product availability aligns with customer demand. Maintain detailed records of customer interactions. Assist in inventory management by stocking shelves, tracking product levels, and coordinating with suppliers as needed. Requirements Proven experience in retail sales. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and CRM systems. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to upsell effectively while maintaining customer satisfaction. Basic knowledge of outdoor materials is preferred. Excellent communication skills. Ability to interpret drawings and layout designs accurately. Experience with POS systems, cash handling, and basic math for transaction processing. Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple client interactions simultaneously. Customer service orientation with a proactive approach to client relationship building. Must be able to lift 55lbs. Must have clean driving record. Forklift and bucket loader experience preferred.
