Box truck semi truck owner operator

Job Overview As a Box Truck and Semi-Truck Owner-Operator, you’ll transport freight and other cargo using your own vehicle, supporting reliable deliveries from pickup through drop-off. This role may involve box trucks, tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, or tankers, depending on the load and assignment. You’ll plan routes, operate safely, and coordinate cargo handling while following applicable transportation and hazardous materials requirements. Duties Drive commercial routes, including over-the-road (OTR) and local route driving, using GPS navigation to plan and adjust trips. Pick up and deliver freight, including automobile transportation, and communicate clearly about delivery progress and cargo needs. Load, unload, and secure cargo; perform manual handling and verify loads are positioned safely for transport. Operate the assigned truck and trailer, including manual-transmission vehicles when required, and inspect equipment before and after trips. Follow Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, as well as hazardous materials and dangerous goods rules when applicable. Your impact: Safe driving and careful cargo handling help customers receive freight reliably and in good condition. Qualifications Required: Valid commercial driving credentials appropriate to the vehicle and routes, plus the ability to operate commercial trucks safely. Required: Delivery driver experience, truck driving or commercial truck driving experience, and familiarity with freight logistics and cargo handling. Required: Ability to perform manual loading and unloading and maintain safe cargo securement. Preferred: Experience with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, tractor-trailers, or automobile transportation. Preferred: Knowledge of Hazmat (hazardous materials) handling, applicable regulations, GPS navigation, and manual-transmission vehicles.
