Box Truck Driver (W2 Employee)

Location: Indianapolis, IN (Starts and ends at 3024 Ridgeview Dr) Employment Type: Full-Time Schedule: Sunday Night – Thursday Night (Off Friday & Saturday nights) About the Position: We are looking for a reliable, safety-focused Box Truck Driver to run a dedicated, time-sensitive regional night route. You will be driving our company-provided box truck. This is a great opportunity for a driver who enjoys a consistent, predictable schedule, steady miles, and being home every day. Key Responsibilities: Safe Operation: Safely drive and maneuver a company-provided commercial box truck through city, highway, and toll-road routes. Time Management: Depart Indianapolis with enough time to strictly meet the 9:30 PM CST delivery window in Elmhurst, IL. Freight Handling: Load, unload, and secure freight at each designated stop using proper equipment (e.g., pallet jack, liftgate, hand truck). Route Compliance: Follow the dedicated route sequence strictly (Elmhurst -> Lafayette -> Washington St -> Ridgeview Dr). Vehicle Maintenance: Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip DOT vehicle inspections. Keep the interior of the truck clean and report any mechanical issues immediately. Fuel & Tolls: Refuel the diesel truck at approved locations using the company fuel card and manage tollway transponders for Illinois/Indiana routes. Documentation: Accurately complete delivery paperwork, obtain necessary signatures, and maintain accurate driver logs (ELD or paper as required by DOT). Requirements: License: Valid Driver’s License (A For-Hire endorsement, Chauffeur’s License, or CDL Class B/C is preferred; DOT Medical Card is required). Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of proven commercial driving experience operating a 16ft–26ft box truck. Clean Record: Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major accidents or moving violations in the past 3 years. Reliability: Exceptional punctuality is a must due to strict customer receiving times. Physical Ability: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and physically handle the loading/unloading demands of the job. Compliance: Must be able to pass a pre-employment DOT background check and drug screening. Tech-Savvy: Basic ability to use smartphone GPS navigation and electronic logging/dispatch apps.
