Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and dependable Box Truck Driver Non CDL OTR (Over-the-Road) to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a box truck to deliver goods across multiple locations, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries while maintaining excellent customer service. Responsibilities Safely operate a box truck for long-distance deliveries across various routes, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and traffic laws. Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement. Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and safety equipment to ensure optimal operation. Manage delivery schedules efficiently by planning routes using mobile devices or GPS systems, optimizing travel time and fuel consumption. Provide excellent customer service by delivering goods accurately and professionally, addressing any delivery-related questions or concerns with courtesy. Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs in compliance with company policies and DOT requirements. Assist with warehouse operations when not on the road, including inventory management, manual handling of materials, and supporting team members with moving or loading tasks. Qualifications Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, preferably with box trucks or similar commercial vehicles. Demonstrated knowledge of safe lifting practices, heavy lifting techniques, and manual handling procedures in warehouse or moving environments. Valid non-CDL driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating manual transmission vehicles is preferred. Familiarity with warehouse operations, material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, and route driving using mobile devices or GPS navigation tools. Ability to lift heavy items safely and perform physical tasks associated with load & unload activities regularly. Strong understanding of DOT regulations related to commercial vehicle operation, weight handling in the workplace, and safety protocols. Excellent communication skills coupled with a customer-focused attitude; able to work independently while following safety guidelines diligently.
