Duties Safely operate box trucks, across local routes, over-the-road (OTR) routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transport. Navigate delivery routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize efficiency and meet delivery schedules. Transport hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods following hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols. Manage the transportation of automobile parts, medical supplies, hvac equipment, and many other general goods. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, including checking for mechanical issues, proper load securement, and compliance with safety standards. Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, logs, inspection reports, and compliance records in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Qualifications Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving with box trucks or tractor-trailers. Valid license with necessary endorsements (if apply) Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, hazard materials regulations, DOT rules, and safety procedures related to truck driving. Skilled in manual transmission operation and truck loading/unloading procedures. Experience with route driving using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries across diverse locations. Ability to handle logistics cargo handling tasks efficiently while maintaining safety standards. Strong understanding of truck driving best practices including flatbed or tanker operations if applicable.
