Box Truck Driver

Duties Safely operate box trucks, including those with refrigerated trailers, on over-the-road (OTR) routes and local deliveries. Load and unload freight, ensuring proper manual handling techniques to prevent damage or injury. Utilize GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning and real-time navigation adjustments. Transport hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods following all hazardous materials regulations and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) standards. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, trailer, and cargo to ensure safety and compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Load freight onto trucks using appropriate logistics cargo handling procedures, including flatbed or tanker configurations when necessary. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports in compliance with DOT regulations. Requirements Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, delivery driving, or truck loading/unloading roles. Knowledge of truck driving safety protocols, including FMCSA regulations and hazardous materials handling. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and handle manual handling tasks effectively. Experience with GPS navigation systems for route optimization and navigation accuracy. Familiarity with load & unload procedures, freight management, and logistics cargo handling techniques. Strong understanding of DOT regulations related to commercial driving and hazardous materials transportation.
